Dawsongroup TCS Wins at the RAC Cooling Awards

Dawsongroup Temperature Control Solutions (DGTCS) have won the Cold Chain Project (Logistics and Storage) category at the RAC Cooling Awards 2017.

The awards, which recognise the cooling industry’s environmental achievements and commitment to innovation, were held on September 27th at the London Hilton, Park Lane.

The Cold Chain Project of the Year Award was launched to recognise the increasing moves being made the refrigeration industry to improve the cold chain, by way of lower-carbon logistics and storage. It was a partnership between DGTCS and Chemours that took the award as the “clear winner”, with an application of low-carbon refrigeration to the temperature-controlled storage facility at Oldham bakery specialist, Park Cakes.

George Walsh, Supply Chain Manager at Park Cakes, expressed his delight working with Dawsongroup “I’m very happy to be working with Dawsongroup, the new building is far better value – delivering the same storage capacity from a much smaller footprint, and with the added benefits of lower running costs and easier access”.  He went on to say “It is far more economical and convenient in every aspect. The fact that we are not opening and closing ten individual doors, and now have R454a gas at work, makes a significant contribution to reducing our environmental impact”.

The judges appreciated the “forward- looking attitude” of Dawsongroup, and that the company continuously look to improve their environmental impact for their customers through extensive research and development.

Those who attended thoroughly enjoyed the night and would like to thank the organisers, and most importantly the fantastic team whose outstanding work contributed to the winning of the award – it is yet another innovative move by the market leaders.
