Dawsonrentals | temperature control solutions is one of 11 divisions under Dawsongroup plc. Temperature control solutions is the division that focuses on providing business with a cost effective solution for any temperature related needs. We work with our customers to help solve critical issues such as storage or production capacity restraints. We can develop viable solutions that help benefit both us and the customer. Our Main market is the food industry, however any market with perishable goods or in need of controlled environments can use the benefits that we offer. Other markets we work with are:
However, it isn't what you think, you dont need to be an expert in controlled environments to work with us, we have several departments that can suit all types of people. Look below to get an understanding of what each department is all about.
The Bodyshop are responsible for anything and everything to do with the body of a unit. When a unit arrives back at DRTCS it is washed and inspected, an estimate is submitted for works required to get the unit back to our high standards. After that each department is informed of what work is required, this includes any modifications as well as the repairs internally or externally. The unit is then transferred to the paint shop who give the whole unit a new cover. Once completed and inspected by the department supervisor and estimator the box can be taken to the refrigeration department.
The Refrigeration department is in charge of the maintenance and refurbishment of refrigeration equpiment. During this process, a pre-electrical test takes place before any work is carried out. It is at this point that all of the electrical circuits are tested to the 17th edition regulations and any repairs required are carried out. Once given the ok and certified safe the refrigeration testing can begin. This is where the fridge kit is given a 46 point check as well as an overnight run, it is at this point that any modification, special requirements as well as F-Gas standard leak testing and temperature calibration checks are carried out.
The projects department ensures that projects which are taken on, run as smooth as possible. The first thing we do is get a good understanding of our clients brief. We then conduct a measured site survey which is then transferred into either a CAD drawing or a Revit model showing DRTCS' proposal. Once the design has been agreed we draw up a specification detailing what DRTCS have included for within our design. When a project is signed a pre brief meeting takes place communicating the project with all the team members. A Gantt chart is circulated to ensure that all parties are aware of timescales. A site information pack (SIP) is given to all installation engineers attending site, if the project size warrants it a DRTCS site manager conducts a site specific induction for all persons working on site. A Client/contractor site meeting take place to ensure the project remains on schedule, design and budget. If a project is notifiable under the CDM regulations 2015, DRTCS can take on the principal contractor and principal designer’s duties.
Our technical team, while being office based, are also mobile and regularly visit various sites for project meetings, fault finding, user training and trials etc. The technical team are also responsible for ensuring we remain market leaders in the equipment we offer, staying ahead of the competition when it comes to plant efficiency, capability, and diversity.
Customer Service Department
Dawsonrentals TCS Service provide unrivalled customer service, and on-going support pre, during and post hire. We provide a 24/7, 365 day customer support function, ranging from offering simple advice, through to resolving complex issues. One telephone number is used to contact the service desk, and from there, the call is put through to the correct person who can deal with the request swiftly. We have strategically based field engineers and Customer Support Engineers who can quickly be arranged to make site visits for instruction, user training, repairs or just for advice.
Operations involves a wide variety of tasks. They work closely with colleagues, customers, manufacturers and suppliers with the aim to make sure that equipment is available for rental and that all deliveries and collections are to the highest standard possible. The department aim to ensure that they have the right equipment available at the right time to meet the customers’ requirements. The preparation, transportation, installation and collection of the equipment requires high levels of co-ordination between all involved and it is only possible through a focused team effort. Our day to day workload involves extensive communication, planning and preparation to ensure that everything goes as smoothly as possible.
Sales and Marketing Department
This department is the face of Dawsonrentals | temperature control solutions. As a department their responsibilities is to source new leads and turn those leads into customers. The Sales team is the main body, with the marketing department there to support them throughout different channels; whether that is with advertising, document creation or sourcing potential leads. There is also a telemarketing division which calls potential customers to find out if they have any requirements and if they would like a visit from the sales team.
The Finance department is responsible for accurately reporting the performance of the company in a timely manner. This is through producing monthly Management Accounts and regular reports on various aspects of the company’s performance including Key Performance Indicators. Costs are controlled through authorising purchases and analysing actual costs to estimates on our projects. The team are encouraged to question things that look different in order to pick up any trends and look at ways of improving processes to ultimately improve the profitability of the company. They are also responsible for processing all supplier invoices and ensuring they are paid on time.
Commercial and Administration Department
Administration department deals with the day to day admin needs of the business, they ensure that a host of operations are carried out such as, wages, expenses, sickness, annual leave, inductions, organisation of events, stationary and other activities. They are also responsible for reception staff. Administration is crucial for our day to day operations at DRTCS, this is due to the fact that day to day function relies on administration support to take care of the background tasks that are required such as hotels bookings etc. Commercial however is a different approach, they work alongside projects but take on the financial/costing role. Due the projects being bespoke for every customer, every unique project will cost a different amount. Commercial costs this up and passes it through the chain of command to get approved for acceptance by the customer.
